Help With Pet Loss

Counseling is available by appointment.  My offices are located in the Chelsea/Flatiron area of Manhattan.  Under certain circumstances, home visits can be arranged.  Please call me at 917.696.2307 to make an appointment.

In addition to in-person counseling, I offer three other types of individual counseling. 

Phone sessions are one-hour sessions with the same structure as an in-person session.  They are arranged by appointment.

Internet chat sessions are one-hour sessions with the same structure as a phone session.  However, instead of speaking on the phone, the client and I have a typed on-line conversation with each other.  These sessions are also arranged by appointment.

Email support is a five-day ongoing support service that is especially useful immediately after a loss.  After signing up for this service, a client can email me their questions and concerns as many times as they wish during a day, and I will respond with answers and comments once a day.  If the client does not contact me, I will still write them a daily email providing support.

Support groups are one of the best forms of assistance for the bereaved, because being with others who are grieving helps a person feel less alone.  Hearing others talk about their losses can make one's own experiences of grief more understandable and acceptable.  I am available to lead support groups for veterinary clinics and other organizations.  I will post on this website any groups I lead that are open to the public.  I am also happy to refer clients to other pet loss support groups in New York. 

My normal fee is $100 per one-hour individual counseling session.  However, a sliding scale is available for clients with special circumstances.  Often just one or two sessions are enough to make a difference, enabling the bereaved to continue the healing process on their own.

The charge for the email support service is $100 total for the five days of support.  A sliding scale is available for clients with special circumstances.

My fee for leading a support group depends on the size and structure of the group.
